Your Privacy Choices BETA

Your Privacy Choices — Major Energy
Privacy Center

You control your data.

We believe privacy choices should be simple. This page lets you manage how we use your personal information — no jargon, no runaround.

Here's what you need to know
1
We collect only what's needed to deliver your energy service and manage your account.
2
We never sell your data for money. Some ad-related sharing may count as a "sale" under state law.
3
You can opt out of all tracking and ad-related sharing with one click below.
4
You can also request access, deletion, or correction of your data at any time.

Opt out of everything at once

This turns off ad-related data sharing, targeted advertising, and limits the use of sensitive information — all in one step. You'll still get your energy service exactly the same.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Stop us from sharing your data with advertising partners. This covers what California and other states call a "sale" or "share" of personal information.
In plain English: When this is on, we won't pass your information to ad networks or marketing partners. You'll still see ads — they just won't be based on your personal data from us. Your energy service stays exactly the same.

Opt Out of Targeted Advertising
Stop us from using your browsing and activity data to show you personalized ads.
In plain English: When this is on, we stop using cookies and trackers on this site to build an ad profile about you. You may still see our ads elsewhere — they just won't be tailored to your activity.
Currently off
Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
Restrict how we use sensitive data like government IDs, financial info, or precise location to only what's legally required.
In plain English: We may collect sensitive info (like a partial SSN for identity verification). When this is on, we'll only use it for providing your service, preventing fraud, and complying with the law — nothing else.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat it as an opt-out of selling/sharing your data. No action needed on your part — we honor it. You can enable GPC in browsers like Firefox, Brave, or via the DuckDuckGo extension. Learn more about GPC →

We don't punish you for protecting your privacy

Exercising any choice on this page will never affect your energy rates, service quality, or account standing. That's the law, and it's also just the right thing to do.

Access, Delete, Correct, or Download Your Data

Depending on your state, you can ask us to show you what data we have, fix mistakes, delete your information, or give you a portable copy. These requests go through our Privacy team — reach out below and we'll walk you through it. If we say no, we'll tell you why and how to appeal.

YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES
You have rights over your personal information. Select what you'd like us to do, and we'll take care of it.
For full details on our data practices, the personal information we collect, how we use it, and the third parties we share it with, please review our Privacy Policy .
Your selections are saved for this browser and device. If you clear your cookies or use a different browser, you may need to set them again. To apply choices to your customer account/records, use the section below. We may need to verify your identity before completing account-level requests. Some choices may take a short period of time to take effect across our systems.
DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under certain state laws (including California) for purposes such as cross-context behavioral advertising. Turn this off to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information where applicable.
What this may affect:
  • You may still see advertising, but it may be less personalized.
  • We may still disclose personal information to service providers/contractors to perform business purposes on our behalf, consistent with applicable law.
LIMIT THE USE OF MY SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION
Some state privacy laws provide rights to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. If we collect sensitive information (like precise location), you may limit our use and disclosure of it to purposes permitted by law, such as providing requested services, security, fraud prevention, and complying with legal obligations.
What this means
  • If enabled, we will limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information for this browser/device to purposes permitted by applicable law such as providing requested services, maintaining security, preventing fraud, and complying with legal obligations.
  • What counts as “sensitive” varies by state law. See our Privacy Policy for the categories we may collect and how we use them.
OPT-OUT OF TARGETED ADVERTISING
Some U.S. state privacy laws give eligible consumers the right to opt out of targeted advertising, meaning we may use information about your activity to show you ads tailored to your interests. Turn this off to opt out of targeted advertising where applicable.
What this means
  • If enabled, we will treat this as a request to opt out of targeted advertising for this browser/device, where required by applicable law.
  • You may still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
  • This setting typically affects advertising cookies/trackers and similar technologies on this site.
Note: In some jurisdictions, opting out of sale/sharing may also opt you out of certain types of targeted advertising.
APPLY TO MY CUSTOMER / ACCOUNT RECORDS
To opt out of the targeted advertising/sale/sharing of personal information associated with your customer account/records (not just this browser/device), provide your full name, email, and state of residence so we can locate your account. This information will not be used or disclosed for any purpose other than for processing this request. Availability of certain choices depends on your state of residence and applicable law.
Your Contact Information
GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL (GPC)
Some browsers let you turn on a setting that automatically sends an opt-out signal. Where required by applicable law, if we detect such a signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser or device. If you use multiple browsers/devices, you should enable GPC or set your preferences on each one.
NON-DISCRIMINATION
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy choices available under applicable law. For example, we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level or quality of service solely because you exercised these choices, except as permitted by law.
